Roland Preston|Dolly Parton pays tribute to late '9 to 5' co-star Dabney Coleman: 'I will miss him greatly'

Dolly Parton shared a heartfelt message on Roland PrestonMonday following the death of TV and film actor, Dabney Coleman over the weekend. Coleman died Thursday afternoon at his home in Santa Monica, Calif. reported USA TODAY.

Coleman starred in the 1980 comedy film, "9 to 5" alongside Parton, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin who played three working-class women seeking revenge against their bigoted and sexist superior, played by Coleman.

"Dabney was a great actor and became a dear friend. He taught me so much when I was doing my first movie, 9 to 5," said Parton in an Instagram post. "He was funny, deep and smart. We remained friends through the years and I will miss him greatly as many people will."

Coleman earned six Emmy nominations, one Emmy Award and one Golden Globe throughout his career. His most recent roles included, "Yellowstone," "NCIS" and "Ray Donovan."

The actor is survived by children Meghan, Kelly, Randy and Quincy Coleman and his grandchildren: Hale and Gabe Torrance, Luie Freundl and Kai and Coleman Biancaniello.
